Job Overview

Youll be part of the Amazon warehouse team as an equipment operator - operating order pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, and other powered industrial trucks (PIT) to handle customer orders safely and efficiently. Youll use PIT equipment to unload and load trailers, store pallets, and retrieve pallets throughout the warehouse. No prior experience required—Amazon provides all PIT training and certification for free.
Basic Job Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Understand and follow instructions in English
  • Lift up to 49 pounds
  • View prompts on screens and follow direction for some tasks
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
  • Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
  • Work in an environment with varying temperatures and moving PIT equipment
  • Operate PIT at heights up to 45 feet as part of daily work
What You’ll Do

  • Operate PIT — such as order pickers and reach trucks
  • Use PIT to locate, retrieve, and store large pallets of items in their designated warehouse locations
  • Handle large pallets of items through multiple warehouse processes, such as store and pick, while operating PIT
  • Operate a stand-up forklift throughout your shift, maneuvering safely around other PIT equipment in motion
  • Safely move items using carts, dollies, and pallet jacks while loading and unloading trailers
  • Use handheld technology to track and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Amazon provides all PIT training and certification for free, so no prior experience is required
Schedule Options

  • Shift Options. Early Morning, Daytime, Evening, and Overnight hours.
  • Weekly Hours. Full-Time (40 hours), Reduced-Time (30-39 hours), Part-Time (20-29 hours), or Flex-Time (0-19 hours).
  • Schedule Flexibility.Choose from a Fixed weekly schedule or Flexible Schedules.
  • Work-Life Balance. Select shifts offer different weekend options (including 2-day and 3-day weekends), with opportunities for overtime based on business needs.
  • Operating Hours. Our sites operate 24/7, so you can choose the shift that works best for you.

Safety Your Workspace

  • Equipment.You’ll be operating and working around moving equipment – PIT equipment, such as forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers, as well as mobile carts, rolling cages.
  • Physical Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs.
Work Conditions

  • Temperature.Climate-controlled facilities maintain temperatures between 60°F and 90°F in most areas. On hot days, temperatures can exceed 90°F and on cold days temperatures can reach below freezing.
  • Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
  • Dress code.Relaxed and comfortable. Closed-toe shoes required. Protective safety footwear required in select areas.$110 Zappos gift code provided for your first day.
