Today we own several well-established systems, but we have also been developing new ones.</p><p></p><p>As a <b>Software Engineer,</b> you will help design, implement, and maintain solutions that glue different infrastructure providers to manage Blizzard’s and its partners’ games and services. You will partner with various teams across the company to gather feedback, help resolve operational issues, and implement enhancements to improve our system’s capabilities and the overall user experience.</p><p></p><p>The work location is flexible within the US, but will need to be aligned to Pacific time business hours.</p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Design and develop software applications using the Go programming language, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.</li><li>Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement best practices for software development to ensure code quality and maintainability.</li><li>Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for the software components and systems developed</li><li>Be on the lookout for operational issues related to our products and support end users.</li><li>Proactively analyze and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to the development process.</li><li>Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, continuously improving the development processes and tools used.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Minimum Requirements: </span></b></p><ul><li>5+ years of professional software engineering experience.</li><li>Proficiency in the Go programming language, with a deep understanding of its paradigms, constructs, and best practices.</li><li>Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.</li><li>Expertise in version control systems, particularly Git.</li><li>Experience building highly scalable distributed software/services in the cloud.</li><li>Proven debugging skills across the stack in production.</li><li>Effective communication, analytical, and teamwork abilities.</li><li>Familiarity with Linux operating system.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Bonus:</span></b></p><ul><li>Experience with HashiCorp tools: Vault, Nomad, Consul</li><li>Experience with frontend development frameworks and tools: Vue.js, Nuxt, Figma</li><li>Experience working with SRE/DevOps teams to achieve operational excellence.</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Your Platform</b><br>Best known for iconic video game universes including Warcraft®, Overwatch®, Diablo®, and StarCraft®, Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations.
